At the start of 2018 I set myself several personal targets for the year ahead.  It's was a mixed bag of results, achieving some targets but not others.  I was however part of some successful club team results, picking up a few gold medals over the year.

My 2018 targets were; 

5k - sub 15:30 - didn't achieve.  Ran 15:49 at the Mid-Cheshire 5k in April, 15:43 at Newstead Abbey Dash in July.  Then so near yet as far at Long Eaton ParkRun running 15:33 in December.

5 mile - sub 26 minutes - didn't achieve it, running 26:29 at the Lutterworth 5 in July and 26:08 at the Joy Cann 5 in August.

10K - sub 32 minutes - left it late but ran 31:54 at Telford 10k in December 

10 mile - sub 53 minutes - achieved this at the Notts 10 in August, running 52:45

Half Marathon - sub 69 minutes - the main target of the year wasn't achieved with running 1:09:32 at Peterborough in October but with dipping under 70 minutes twice during the year was confidence boosting.  Nevertheless there's still work to be done!

So my 2019 targets are now;

Moving into 2019 I've set myself the following targets, with some carried forward from 2018;

5k - sub 15:30 - managed to kick-start 2019 with a PB at the Nottingham 5k Winter Series running 15:24 (3/1/19) - achieved already!

5 miles - this is still outstanding from 2018 - sub 26 minutes.  Need to find a race that I can fit in to a busy schedule.

Half marathon - another one outstanding from 2018 - sub 69 minutes.  I'll be returning to The Big Half in March as part of my marathon build up.

Marathon - this has been a thorn in my side for a few years now and will be the key focus for 2019.  The Virgin London Marathon on 28th April is the target race and the target time remains at sub 2:30, and then see how far under the target I go.  With marathon training due to start next week, only time will tell.....
